Mami Doodles Challenge week #42 Make a card for a loved one!

This weeks Mami Doodles Challenge is to make a card for a loved one... well I stepped outside the box a little with my card and instead of a heart/valentine style card I made a card suitable for a little girls Communion, a special day that will be celebrated by so many little girls and boys soon.
I used the gorgeous image THE STAR FAIRY and Elisa removed part of the image meaning it doesnt have to be cut out and can be used with your nesties. I embellished with a gold diecut, stickles and pearls, I even gave her a pearl piece of Holy Communion lol ( well I do get carried away sometimes lol )

Sassy time again and this week Jeni sets a "light blue and brown challenge" this little miss is "Polly's tea cup" each time I see her I think of the rhyme Polly put the kettle on so Cheryl popped her into a teacup, and she is perfect:) I love sending a cup of cheer so added a little verse inside and a tea bag!

Mami Doodles challenge week #40 Altered Art/ Home Decor

I had all sorts of ideas for this weeks Mami Doodles challenge but in the end I went for an altered box with matching card using the Mami Doodles image THE STAR FAIRY, I painted the box with white soft sheen paint, decorated with papers and used chipboard for the raised lid, I then filled it with rose petal soaps.

This weeks Sassy Cheryl's challenge is one of my favourites " White on White" so we are having a Blizzard !!!! I made up a little snow scene using lots of frosty glitter, embossing folders and nestie shapes, there were lots of Sassy snowmen I could have used but decided on " UP IN ARMS " snowman because he looks like he is enjoying all that snow and couldnt be happier :)

I had a little bit of time to make a " Just because" card this week and was dying to use my new Waltzing mouse stamp set, Candy jar Christmas fillers .. I LOVE these stamps and had great fun colouring them with my promarkers and putting them into their little Candy jar cabinet, I cut the frame and hinges with my cricut machine, the front is covered with acetate but the photo doesnt show it well.

Mami Doodles challenge this week is " Fairytales are real" I wasnt sure which image to go with this week but decided on Girl with wings because of her fairy wings, I think fairies have to sparkle so I added lots of bling and pearls, I paper pieced her dress and used the same gold embossed paper for the background and glitter velum for her wings, I used so much bling I decided to leave everything else clean and simple, I made a gift card holder with a Fairy verse to go inside the main card.

Cricut and Mami Doodles!

As some of you already know I have a love/hate relationship with my cricut expression, I bought it months ago but struggled with the mats, clean cuts etc, so it has been an ornament gathering dust until recently I had an idea for a workshop card so I took it, dusted it off :) and tried it, hey presto I love it !!!! so much so I decided to create a card today and this is the finished result, The base card is cut with the cricut and I dressed up this gorgeous little Mami Doodles girl ( from the Ligia playing dress up set) with cotton/tulle ribbon and a bow! I coloured her with pro markers!

This is a real ME card with ribbon,flourishes, butterflies, tiny pearls and a tasteful amount of glitter!

I will be bringing my jewellery to sell at the GBCE and while browsing around for some nice jewellery display stands I came accross a wire dress mannequin that I loved, but me being me I challenged myself to dress it up into something more elegant and this is what I came up with, it is not completly finished yet I still have some final touches to add but I think with some nice jewellery displayed on it, it will look nice !

For this weeks Mami Doodles Challenge we are making " a shaped card " I made an oval card with a flourish frame and embossed insert ( this card stands like an easel card without the base) I used one of Mami Doodles gorgeous Midori images, because the frame is so detailed I left the rest of the card in simple red and white and embellished with tiny pearls.

This weeks Mami Doodles challenge is " Heavy Metal " I did a double take on this and went for a heavy metal guitar player and distressed some embossed silver card and darkened with black ink to give a rough metal look, I used the image Nick with skateboard which usually had a skate board but I replaced it with a rock guitar.

My card was published in Irelands New online magazine !

I answered a submission call from Irelands first online crafting magazine with this card for the theme " A stitch in time" and was delighted to be told it has been published, I faux stitched the outline layers and coloured the beautiful little girl with pro markers then made a silk ribbon flower to embellish.

Well Jeni went all out and set this weeks Sassy Cheryl's challenge "Colour on Kraft" firstly I didnt have any kraft paper/card and secondly I have never coloured directly on to it , soooooo had to get my thinking cap on, I eventually found some paper on the cover of a paper pad so I was on my way .... now to colour !!! my pro markers were dull so I tried my coloured fine liners and liked the effect, I added a white gel pen and left well enough alone. I embellished with ribbon, pearls and a butterfly coloured with chalks.

Well someone likes my flowers :) a tiny ladybird has moved in since I took the first photos!

Little Claire designs have brought out a range of digital images so I treated myself to a few today and also picked up this free image, isnt she great ! I coloured her with pro markers.

Mami Doodles Challenge " Flowers "

This weeks Mami Doodles challenge theme is " Flowers " ... I used the image " Flowering tree " I paper pieced the tree, cut out the flowers and added some pastel coloured card candy dots for added dimension. I was given this beautiful lady digital image recently by Claire of Claires cards and am only getting around to using it today, I love how elegant she looks so created a card to look like she is out for the evening for a very special occasion, I coloured with pro markers and paper pieced the dress with patterned paper,I stamped the chandelier and chair on patterned paper and

embellished with crystal bling, I didnt add a sentiment yet but will when I decide who I am sending it to, I think this image would be perfect for a birthday, debs night, "thinking of you" card or a a "just for you" card.

Guest Designer for Phindys Place week #35

I was delighted to be chosen as a guest designer for Phindy's Place this week, the challenge is to " Give Thanks "and to use up your scrap papers, I love Phindy's digital images and chose " Miss Chrissy tree " for my stair step card and coloured her with pro markers, I added glossy accents to highlight the detail but the photo didnt show it well.

Mami Doodles Challenge week 17.Cherish your online friends

This week in the Mami Doodles challenge we are challenged to send a card to an online friend, I sent my card to Kahlinn and hopefully she has received it before today.I used the Mami Doodles image " The story teller" and coloured with pro markers, I added stickles glitter but the photo doesnt show it.

You could be in with a chance to win some Mami Doodles digital stamps (Meow, Star Fairy, Storyteller, plus one of your choice), show something you're made for someone you met online. For this challenge, you can link to an old post instead of an recent one.
This challenge will run until December 31st. Winners will be announced on second week of January.
