Thank you

Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments you leave here on my blog. I love taking photos and sharing my craft pics, I find the comments really encouraging. It makes it all worth while to think others are enjoying my photos too. There wouldn't be any point having them here if no one was dropping by for a look.... I will leave you with Glittery Stickles ( I like the sound of that ) =0)

Pink snow

Took these yesterday in my favourite part of the park, I love the cherry blossoms but with the breeze they don't last long ,all the blowing petals look like pink snow.
OMG I just went over to Kirsty Wisemans blog to see if there were any more Crafteire photos and she has a post with exactly the same title as this one and a photo of cherry blossoms . Scary.

Ducklings

I had a fantastic weekend in Tullamore (Crafteire ) it was great to meet up with everyone again and Kate and Mireille did a brilliant job with all the organising , everything was great. Imagine spending a crafting weekend with the nicest people in the world , I would like to thank everyone who attended my classes I hope you came away with some new ideas. I'm sorry I didn't bring my camera ,I think I brought everything else though ( never again ) I didn't get a chance to use anything with all the chatting and shopping and running around. Roll on next year.

To make up for leaving my camera at home I went out today and found these . I thought the pic of the duckling was out of focus but if you click on the photo you will see the little fluffy halo it has. The mother was guarding them all under her and look at the way she is looking at me .I love the profile of the duck in the pic above.
Click on the pics for a detailed look.

Chalk backgrounds

A couple of chalk background cards, I made these with stick chalks before I discovered the pallet chalks I use now , You still get the same effect but the pallets are nicer to use. On these two cards I used a gold webbing spray over the chalk and then stamped on top.
( Both of these cards were published in the Somerset studio. I wont say what year .LOL )

In full bloom

The sun has worked wonders on all the flowers and trees . The last time I was in Herbert park
there were only buds and closed tulips but today everything was blooming in its full glory and the colours were out of this world. The tulips were a carpet of colour and the cherry blossoms like confetti.

If you look closely under the cherry blossoms you will see a spring bride and groom posing for their wedding photo's.

Turning Japanese

My Scrapwest submission for this week , the theme was set by Carrie and was " Turning Japanese" I enjoyed using some oriental stamps as I have a large collection of them and never seem to get a chance to use them. I used alcohol inks on stampboard and a domino. Then stamped the images with stazon.

Blue Ice

I made this for myself because I have no blue jewellery but a friend put her eye on it , she really needed it to match a top and bracelet she has LOL and I couldnt say no. I suppose I can take it as a compliment and I really enjoy making them . I will have to build up my bead collection at this rate.

Some of my first bracelets, gone to a good home =0)

Transfer image ATC

There was some chat going on the Craftsupplies forum earlier about photo transfer images and Mary suggested using clear packing tape to transfer your image, so I gave it a try and here is the result. The crocus is the transfer image and you can see how the text is visible through the magazine image. This was a first attempt so I am sure more practice would give even better results .
Method used: choose your image from a magazine ,stick the wide clear sellotape over the image and rub down, Soak in hot water for a minute, remove and with your finger rub off the backing paper, dry and that is it .
To make up the finished card I applied ink directly to the atc ,stamped over the base with a text stamp using stazon then applied the transferred image with vellum glue roller. After I glued the transfer image to the ATC I rubbed it with some fine sandpaper ( As suggested by MM ) to take the gloss off, it makes it blend in much better. The ATC on the left is my second attempt and it worked out fine too.

The pond

These photos were taken in Blackrock Park this evening, looking at them you would think they were taken at different times of the day but the top pic was the view on my right hand side and the other two on my left.

Hoppy Easter.

Have a great weekend

A walk in the park

We went for a walk in Deer Park, Mt Merrion today and spotted this little fella. Believe me he didn't stay still for a minute, he was gone like a flash after he posed for this shot, up into the trees at the speed of light.

This flower reminds me of a sizzix daisy die.

Scrapwest scraplift

My scrapwest submission for this week , We had to scraplift/cardlift something we admired from someone else and I chose a DL Lainey made at her last crop titled Change , instead of making a Layout I made an accordion card. I enjoyed adding colour to some of the B&W photos especially the Indian hat. Making this really made me realise how fast the years go, one day you have a baby and before you know it a teenager, making something like this takes twice as long as anything else because once the photos come out that's it , I end up looking through boxes of them and before I know it hours have passed .I get lost in memories. Its a lovely idea to have images of your child growing over the years in one piece of work. The Scrapwest submissions this week were fantastic I couldn't choose a favourite .

Coral Shimmer

I didn't think this jewellery making would be so addictive ... wrong... it is. I tried to pick out the pinks, greens and tan tones from the main piece for this one using glass, pearl and shell beads. The main piece is lightweight so it feels very comfortable to wear . You can see the colours in more detail if you click on the pic ( don't look too close though ) LOL

Way above the chimney tops

I cant help clicking these sunset skies , I love the unpredictable colours in each shot.

Butterfly Kiss & Little Musician.

Sometimes when I am looking around I come across cards I forgot about , today I found these two ,the butterfly girl is a photo stamped image mounted on layers of rose paper and the Little musician boy and background are stamped then layered on card.

Tree lined street

Not a great photo but there is something about it I like , It was taken beyond the Bowling green in Herbert park. ( If you click on the pic you will see a closer view. Bird ,birds nest and all. =0)

Blush Flush

I found these Hyacinth in among all the fading Daffodils and crocus and the burst of colour was fantastic, I love these two colour's together. There's not a lot I can say about them , I think they say it all for themselves .
......
A prophet is reported to have said “If I had but two loaves of bread, I would sell one and buy hyacinths, for they would feed my soul.”

Sparkly Oatmeal

I really am enjoying this beading , here is another one using pinks this time , The main piece looks like an oatmeal biscuit with added glitter , I thought that the minute I saw it then the girl in the shop said she named it oatmeal ,I got the clasp neater this time too ( I'm catching on ) They are very simple pieces but I think I am better starting with something like this and then trying something more difficult . I love designing them and then seeing the finished result.

City wildlife

..................
When we think of living in the city the image we have is of buildings , rush hour and noise , but there is also the other side of it like these beautiful deer in the Pheonix Park , You can walk right up to them for a closer look. Plenty of space there to relax and gather your thoughts .
