Gothic Arches " Asian "

"Linda M. is our hostess this week and she selected the theme “Asian” as our challenge. Linda created this beautiful arch to share and inspire us all. What comes to your artistic mind when you think of Asian….geisha girls? temples? beautiful costumes? Whatever it may be - we want to see it here in arch form this week!"
For this Arch I stamped text on a textured arch and outlined with gold metallic pen, I stamped and embossed the Asian image, sponged with water based inks and bleached parts of the image, I highlighted small parts of the image with sakura gel pens and finished off with a small charm embellishment.

TMTA,," Spring

TMTA theme this week is Spring -
"Nature is coming alive again. The first blossoms on the trees, birds twitter and brighter days "the first things I relate to spring"

Theme Thursday, Pink and Brown.

"This week’s theme is the color combo “pink and brown”. Use these colors as the main colors in your creation this week! You may use other colors as well, but have pink and brown as your main colors in your art! Use collage images, rubber stamps, fancy paper , embellishments or any other art supply to give your art a “pink and brown” look. Make an ATC, 4 x 4, card, inchie, altered tag, skinny or whatever you fancy!"
I love this colour combination and would rarely use pink with a boy image but I like the end result.

Wedsnesday Stamper "First letter First name"

"This week’s Wednesday Stamper challenge is to make some artwork with the first letter of your first name. That should provide us with very many different things. You are completely free to use this letter as you want, for example make a feature of the letter itself, or use a word that starts with the same letter as the first one of your name. We are very curious how this challenge will turn out" For this challenge I stamped a jester stamp with stazon then re stamped the image onto pink and green paper cut out and layered over images. The letter J( for Jackie) is a cardboard letter inked with stazon and the stitching is white gel pen, The text is computer generated and the embossing is a cuttlebug folder.

I made these pieces from micro slides and a plastic slide mailer I received from Mary (MM). The top pieces are a little black box I was keeping because I cannot throw small boxes away and knew it would come in handy ( and it did ) I brightened it up with a little piece made up with four very delicate glass slides placed over some collage pics and mounted on to some very thick board, for the metal soldered effect I cheated and used silver relief paint.

For the plastic slide mailer below I used alcohol inks and outlined with gold metallic pen, then added a photo a glass slide and a paper embellishment.

DCM " Take a break "

The Daring cardmakers challenge this week was set by Mel...
The dare involves creating a card incorporating a tea bag or coffee satchel - just perfect for days when somebody may need a quiet rest and break.
Where are all the square tea bags when you need them, =0) OK so I improvised and folded a round one instead and put it into a sizzix scallop pocket. The tea cups are stamped with Majestic blue ink and I used diamond glaze to add shine, I then finished off with a tea pot, tea bag and cups charms.
